Frequently Asked Questions

Shamanism

  • A shaman is a highly respected title given to a traditional medicine man or woman who masters altered states of consciousness. A shaman is a bridge between the spirit world and physical plane. He or she uses its spirit relationships to create changes that will manifest in the physical world to meet the healing needs of his/her community.

Stanley Krippner described shamans and shamanism as the oldest profession, the first physicians, diagnosticians, storytellers, psychotherapists, religious functionaries, magicians, performing artists, and storytellers.

A shaman or shamanic practitioner is one who takes care of healing of people, but may not be up to them to make that decision.

A shaman or the practitioner often has a calling and goes through a lot of isolation and initiation before being activated. He or she may also spend time training with other shamans where the learning regimen is intense and rigorous.

Not all who practices shamanism are shamans and a shamanic practitioner may be a shaman without calling themselves a shaman.

Living in harmony with nature, healing of self and of community, having a spiritual practice, pilgrimage are all foundation aspects of shamanism.

  • A Shaman has:

    • An increased facility for mastering altered states of consciousness and traveling in non-ordinary realms at will

    • The ability to mediate between the needs of the spirit and physical world

    • The ability to serve the needs of the community that cannot be met by practitioner of other disciplines such as psychiatrists, physicians, specialists, leaders, priests…

    • The ability to diagnose energetic root causes and to heal them so they don’t manifest on the physical plane

  • We often make the mistake when doing trauma-work to try and intellectualize or use the rational part of our brain to do the healing.

In truth, trauma is not stored in the frontal cortex of the brain. No amount of talking will heal trauma. Trauma is stored in the deeper regions of the brain, the subconscious. Trauma often doesn’t come as memories, sometimes fragments will come, but trauma comes back as reactions, triggers, and adaptations. Trauma is stored in the deeper waters. The subconscious, and our body is our map to the subconscious. When working with trauma stored in the body, we work with trauma stored in the subconscious.

Shamanic healings work both with the subconscious and the body, but also directly with spirit and the elements. We bring you back in a trance state where we work with the subconscious brain — where the memory of the trauma has been imprinted. We work with different types of techniques such as sounds to reach different types of frequencies and to move energies in different directions. Breath to release the energy imprinted in the body, during which Melanie carefully reads your body language. Leading to physical and emotional releases, and if it’s meant for, cathartic releases. Melanie also works directly one foot in the energetic field or spirit realm and one foot on the physical, with the chakras, and with spirit to bring healing and change on all planes of existence. She also works with the angels, ascended masters, and spirit animals to ensure your protection when you leave sacred space.

Before we begin our session, we can put a specific intention to revisit a timeline and release energy from a specific event or wound.

Further more, Shamanic Healings offer a powerful and holistic approach, utilizing energy healing, shamanic medicine, cathartic releases, and sounds to address various issues such as treatment-resistant and psychosomatic conditions, stored trauma and emotions, complex mental health conditions, “feeling stuck”, and overwhelm. By clearing blockages, moving and alchemizing energies, this integrated approach promotes transformation and aim to help individuals heal and regain their sovereignty on a profound level.

In a shamanic healing, Melanie brings the individual into a trance state, allowing their subconscious mind to become active. This part of the brain is responsible for storing memories of past traumas or shocks that have been experienced. Guiding the individual to remain present in their physical body, Melanie works with kundalini energy, the energy of transformation, to open the chakras, the energy centers within the astral body, allowing to release energy imprints related to trauma that may be lingering within the physical, emotional, and energetic fields, aiming to free one from triggers imprinted in the subconscious mind.

Individuals may experience a range of physical and sensory experiences during a shamanic healing session. These can include tingling and cramping sensations in the hands, and sweating as energy shifts and releases from the body. Emotional releases and purging may also occur as stored trauma and emotions are processed and released.

It's important to note that everyone's experience during a shamanic healing will be unique and individual. The specific sensations and effects experienced can vary based on the individual's personal history, trauma, and energetic makeup.

Energy Healing

  • Intuitive energy healing is based on the belief that our bodies and minds are surrounded by an energy field, also referred to as the aura, and sometimes our bubble. This energy field can become imbalanced due to various factors, such as stress, trauma, negative emotions, limiting beliefs, and often times other people’s energy that you may encounter on a day to day basis.

During the session, Melanie begins with a short assessment and then by connecting with the recipient’s energy, often by scanning the body or using her hands to feel for areas of imbalance or stagnation.

The practitioner works with her intuitive abilities and heightened sensitivity to detect and resolve energy imbalances within the chakras and subtle body of the recipient. Working with her receptivity to energy and various techniques such as energy channeling, aura cleansing, intuitive insights, gentle touch, breath-work, and intention, Melanie can help move and restore the flow of energy, leading to improved physical and emotional health and a more regulated nervous system. This gentle and non-invasive practice aid in promoting overall well-being and restoring harmony to the mind, body, and spirit. This practice can complement other healing modalities such as shamanic healings and traditional medicine and serve as a powerful tool for self-care and personal growth..

She believes that when the energy flows freely and harmoniously, the body's natural healing abilities can be activated, leading to improved physical health, mental clarity, emotional wellbeing, and spiritual growth.

Past Life Regression

  • Experiencing yourself as an everlasting soul who has lived before and will live again can give greater understanding of your relationships, behaviours, fears, fear of death, phobias, nightmares. It might also explain mysteries in your life that you once had no way making sense of, but then makes total sense after travelling to a certain timeline.

  • Yes, but it’s not like you see on tv or in shows for entertainment. You still remain in “control”, aware of your body, where you are, and of what’s happening while at the same time re-visiting a past life.

  • Some past lives can be very peaceful and nice and some less pleasant to see and experience. It really depends with each souls. Personally I’ve travelled to many past lives and in my experiences it’s like watching a movie in your 3rd eye. We really encourage and guide you to stay detached and remain an observer. We also are not in that timeline anymore, we are travelling there for better integration of our everlasting nature. We set our intentions with our questions beforehand so that we can surrender to the experience as much as possible.

  • Not that you can’t endure. Also, past lives regressions are not like healings in which we want to remove imprints of trauma and energy, BUT it may happen that the energy starts moving as well. Tingling, cramping in your hands, tears, sweat. When the moving energy meets a blockage there can be sensations but it’s not painful in a sense that you don’t want to do it. In all cases I’ve seen, if you start purging your body will want to go with it. We’re also in a setting where you’re allowed to honour your releases, you’re allowed to react, scream, swear, whatever is needed to come out is welcomed to come out.

Your physical sensations may also be very subtle. Each light body and physical body is unique and you’re always doing and getting what you need at the time being.

  • Your soul is only given what it’s ready for.

But at anytime we can bring you back to normal consciousness without danger and work with the integration there.

  • We are given what our soul is ready for at any given moment. You’re not making it up, the hardest part is being able to observe and allowing your ego to step back. Meditation is great to practice stillness of the mind and becoming a clearer channel.

Soul Retrieval

  • The term soul loss does not mean you lost your soul. But instead means that sometimes when trauma happens, a part of your essence fragments to survive the experience causing you to lose touch with an aspect of yourself or soul. This phenomenon is called soul loss.

We often hear “I have never been the same” when soul loss is occurring.

Dissociation, chronic depression, suicidal tendencies, post-traumatic stress adaptations, immune deficiency problems, grief that just does not heal, and addictions are also signs of untreated soul loss.

  • During a Soul Retrieval, the shaman journeys to the spirit world to find the aspect of one’s self that has fragmented during soul loss and integrates it back with a “gift” the individual needs at the time.

The word shaman means “one who sees in the dark” or “one who knows”.
